Education Without Knowledge

A diploma is a sacred amulet that opens every door – at least in the minds of those who have one. The problem is, there’s still an echo in their heads and zero skills in their hands. But hey, the paper counts. Why bother knowing how to do the job when you can have a nice photo in a graduation cap and a LinkedIn post: “Master’s degree. Proud moment!”

Today we have master’s degrees from TikTok and PhDs in emotions. Real-life know-how? Not necessary. All you need is some “industry terminology,” the ability to make a pastel-colored presentation, and to use magic words like “strategy,” “synergy,” “innovation.” The rest? Let ChatGPT handle it.

Once upon a time, a diploma symbolized knowledge. Today, it symbolizes student debt and three years of partying. And then the outrage when the world doesn’t roll out a red carpet: “But I have a degree! Why doesn’t anyone want me?” Maybe because your only skills are “teamwork” and “thriving in a dynamic environment,” which is code for “I can scroll my phone in open space.”

There’s no worse plague than an army of educated minds with nothing inside. They want specialist salaries but don’t know how to open Excel. They want an “expert position” because they studied “creative management in social media.” Have you ever seen a graduate who can’t write an email without typos? I have. More than once.

Today’s world is a circus where knowledge is optional and titles are mandatory. Paper chases paper, but reality checks in: a title doesn’t think for you. But hey, don’t get discouraged. You can always go back to school. Maybe get a PhD in “emotional diversity in remote work structures”? Sounds prestigious. Just like your zero experience.

And here’s the brutal truth – the world doesn’t need more diplomas. It needs people who can do anything beyond scrolling Instagram.
