Sun, wind and the government’s grip – why should I pay for what nature gave me?

Imagine building a house far from the city. Somewhere where the power grid doesn’t reach, where nobody peers through your window, where all you hear is wind, the rustle of trees, and a nearby stream. You install solar panels. You dig in a water turbine. You set up some small wind turbines powering your life. For safety – a generator and fuel stored. Everything works. You don’t draw a single watt from the grid. You don’t use their infrastructure. And yet… someone comes along and says you have to pay.

For what? For the sun shining? For the wind blowing? For water flowing?

This isn’t science fiction. It’s reality. More countries are trying to shake people down under the guise of “regulations,” “safety,” and “fair cost distribution.” They tell you that if you have panels, you must report. That if you’re connected to the grid, you owe fees—even if you use nothing. And if you want to completely go off‑grid? Soon they’ll claim it’s “illegal,” “risky,” “against regulations.”

Why?

Because it’s not about energy. It’s about control.

The sun doesn’t belong to the government. Neither do the wind or water. These are nature’s gifts—here long before any government existed. But the system hates those you can’t invoice. So they try to make you a slave—even when you’re fully independent. They give you “grants.” “Tax relief.” But with those come chains. Conditions. Responsibilities. Contracts. And if you rebel? They’ll hit you with “prosumer fees” for owning panels. Or demand “permits” for wind turbines. Or say: “water turbine? You’re messing with the environment.” It doesn’t matter if you use no grid power. It doesn’t matter if you harm no one. The system doesn’t tolerate free people.

Off‑grid is rebellion. And that terrifies the system.

Self‑sufficiency is today’s greatest act of civil disobedience. You have your own food? Your own energy? Your own water? That means you’re not a customer. Not a petition‑signer. Not a cog. You don’t pay. You don’t demand. You are not controlled. And for those in power—that’s a threat. Because such people can’t be bought. They can’t be threatened with bills. They can’t be hostage to gas, coal or electricity prices. That’s why more countries are rolling out crazy regulations. That’s why they tax the sun. That’s why they invent absurd rules to make freedom illegal.

But the truth is: you owe them nothing. If you support yourself—there’s no obligation to pay. If you draw nothing from the grid—you don’t owe anyone. If your panels, turbines, windmills, and generator give full independence—the only thing that belongs to the government is their envy. Because you are free. And freedom they cannot control terrifies them.

One more thing: they change the rules on the fly. Today they offer something—they advertise: “invest in a modern stove!” Two years later that stove is on the banned list. People take loans, subsidies, overhaul their systems—and then get stuck with the cost and requirement… to replace it with something new. Without apology. Without accountability. Without help. Because regulations have no memory. And officials are always clean.

That’s why trusting a system that can stab you in the back at any moment and call it modernization is a mistake.

Don’t ask permission for what nature already gave you. Just take it. And stop explaining yourself. Because if you can’t use the sun freely, the wind without permission, the water without a bill—you are no longer a free human being. You are a life tenant. And that’s what you need to rebel against.
